FIRST LEVI: The torment of a man

Primo Levi registered under number 174 517, Auschwitz (Poland) - survived.

We all know Primo Levi, one of the most varied and important writers of Italian literature, was indeed the author of poems, memoirs, short stories and novels.
Born in July 1919 by a family of Jewish origin, was a model student until 1943 when he spent 11 months in prison to Auschwitz (It was one of the twenty survivors among the 650 Jews who had come with him to the field). In 1947 he composed If this is a man, one of the most important among his works which with bitter tones and strong describes the condition of the prisoner in a death camp, poetry, Levi, puts the reader in a position to reflect on what has been , do not forget that once the Jews were considered less important than a pebble by the side of a road.
The literary style of Primo Levi, as is clear from his major works, is a realist style of mold-descriptive. It is indeed a dry narrative, short and comprehensive enough to understand the feelings and the social background of the setting work. Style that fits the general public, Levi intends to address, especially if it is an issue of extreme importance as that of the prison camp.
April 11, 1987 Levi died by falling from the trumpet of stairs of his home in Turin, giving rise to the suspicion that it was a suicide note that he lived in torment after his experience in concentration camps.
