To See You Again (The Bridges of Budapest)

Another book was read and another wave of emotion was poured out on me, this time to crush this bitter and sometimes painful as pleasurable as it is key was an autobiographical masterpiece signed Betty Schimmel. Are you wondering: Who will come?

This "anonymous character" is actually a woman who lived her life carrying on their shoulders the weight of a love denied by time and circumstances.
But first things first ...

We are in the early 40. This is the story of a young Jewish girl named Betty who is with his family to have to move from his home town Uzgorod in Budapest due to Nazi pressure. Adattatasi environment Betty decides to attend the public school know where her best friend Violet, had an excellent rapport with her until they know a little more than her boy named Richie hour of exercise because it put the team together for a physical exercise ... the first two become close friends (he accompanies her home every day) but slowly realize they are meant for each other, so a day the two young people are promised eternal love on the banks of the romantic Danube.
Their passion continues to grow and the two are together for 4 years trying to quell the temptations to which young people are instinctively inclined to fall in love, but he, strong in his love and respect for Betty decides not to surrender to the most complete passion. But not all stories are happy endings and this chapter of their lives is about to close, from one day to find themselves separated because of Hitler's final solution (which consists of killing as many Jews as possible) ... Betty is forced to go through hell with his family because they will walk non-stop from Budapest to Vienna and then be transferred Mathausen and to spend the rest of his days until the liberation by the Americans.
But even if his body back to health is an empty shell. Betty tried in vain to find his beloved Richie. Then, without any hope and surrender to the feeling of Eight avance a good boy who lost his entire family because of Shoah.I two married and moved to America in giving birth to three children ... But one day in the mid-70's Betty decides to go back to Budapest to remembrance the days gone by and an unexpected encounter awakens his soul soothed by the fact that fate has poured ... A poignant novel

love that never dies, and affection about the war ... as a novel that tells nothing, not even war can sometimes destroy the force of the soul ... a book that I recommend you to read.

here is a picture that I paint Betty in the 90s

final mark 9 / 10
