On April 21 at 17.30 there was already a decent line the entrance of the pipes, at Termini Station, to access the 'meetings between companies and students, in The City JOB , Organized by Jobadvisor . The
event concept is certainly interesting to meet with representatives of companies in an informal and cozy. Given the time ... a drink would be very welcome, but you can not ask too much, it is still working!
The companies were few but well-graded, two multinational companies such as KPMG (management consulting and auditing) and Procter & Gamble, two companies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical-like ARTSANA ALLERGAN, well-known telecommunications company, TELECOM ITALY and, finally, a training body: UNIVERSITY BUSINESS.
While waiting in line I got to talk with other colleagues, recent graduates, but also young professionals, who fed a mixture of hope and disillusionment with the initiative ... and the labor market in general.
graduates in statistics, economics, law, communication sciences, marketing, though disheartened by the many and CVs sent without receiving a response from the few interviews that they had not been followed, we were trying to get in the game! the series ... he who hesitates is lost !
The question that arises is: "Meeting really need these jobs or are they just a joke?"
sensible question to be answered as to legitimize an "it depends"!
Surely there will be those who will receive a call the next day for an interview, and they surely will be worth it!
In any case, all these meetings are definitely an opportunity to deliver their curriculum in person, get to see for informed of open positions, hands-on market demand .
For the purposes are many companies on the one hand collect nominations for positions already open, raise the other profiles to be kept on file just in case , and finally to do some 'of Employer branding , That is a bit 'of advertising!
And talks with referrals? Are valid or are they just a farce?
Again, the answer is "it depends"! In several cases, companies were limited to collecting the CV and to invite the candidates to register on the web site (sic).
In others, such as for the company Allergan, which I have personally tested, it was a short but interesting cognitive interview, followed by feedback via mail!
Not bad I say!
What are the most sought after figures? Interns, in almost all business functions, and then technical and business figures, as sales representatives for pharmaceutical companies, or consultants, auditors for the advice!
PS: Did you take part too in this or other events? Give us your feedback!
